Service

Saint Matthew Lutheran Church has a dynamic array of Christian community activities. Caring for one another is our call as Christians. Connecting together in outreach truly does change lives. Many outreach ministries are ongoing; other have specific meeting times. Contact the church office for more information.

Our outreach ministry includes:

    • Prayer Chain – Telephone or e-mail communication network for prayer requests
    • Mobile Ministry – Providing transportation for members in need
    • Aid for Friends – Program of meals to elderly and disabled in Delaware County with special “Cook-offs” scheduled throughout the year
    • Food Bank – St. Matt provides ongoing support to the Loaves and Fishes food ministry in Prospect Park
    • Souper Bowl of Caring – a community-wide event that collects non-perishable food for local food banks.  The event occurs yearly over the Super Bowl weekend.
    • LWR Quilts – Quilts are constructed from donated or recycled materials for people around the world that have been displaced from war, weather catastrophes or famine.
    • ABC Quilts – Quilts and other sewing projects to support children at the Ronald McDonald House and babies with HIV – 3rd Wednesday of each month
    • Habitat for Humanity – Christian housing ministry
    • Evangelism activities – Walks to distribute Saint Matthew flyers; marching in the July 4th parade

In addition to the structured activities above, numerous volunteer opportunities are always available at Saint Matthew.  Consider sharing your gifts to help build up the Body of Christ!
