Help for Ukraine<\/strong>
Thank you to all who have been offering humanitarian relief to the people affected by the war in Ukraine in this difficult time.  We have 2 ways in which we have been offering assistance.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first way<\/strong> is by financial offerings through Lutheran Disaster Response, Eastern Europe Crisis Relief<\/strong>.  
You may make a gift directly through the website below, or you may make a gift through St. Matthew by writing a check to St. Matthew, and marking it for Lutheran Disaster Response.  We will then forward it to LDR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The work of Lutheran Disaster Response is supported by our regular offerings to the church.  A portion of what we receive we share with the Synod, which then shares a portion with the wider Church.  In so doing, the administrative costs of Lutheran Disaster Response are covered, so 100% of any gifts given can go to the cause being supported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second way<\/strong> we have been helping is through gifts in kind<\/strong> that are being collected for the people of Ukraine.  This is being done through a Boy Scout Troop in Aston which has a contact with a relief group that sends and distributes the items to people in Ukraine.  (Nicole Smith is our contact person.)  So far we have filed a box of supplies twice.  The effort will continue indefinitely as the conflict continues.

  • Snacks in packages<\/li>
  • Baby Bottles<\/li>
  • Bandages (all types)<\/li>
  • Dried food<\/li>
  • Baby formula<\/li>
  • Over the counter Powdered milk<\/li>
  • Diapers<\/li>
  • Medicine (Ibuprofen)<\/li>
  • Hot Chocolate<\/li>
  • Baby wipes<\/li>
  • Bars of soap<\/li>
  • Ramen Noodles<\/li>
  • Baby food<\/li>
  • Toothpaste<\/li>
  • Thermal wear<\/li>
  • Knee Pads<\/li>
  • Tooth Brushes<\/li>
  • Sleeping bags<\/li>
  • Rain Coats<\/li>
  • Gloves & Hats<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    There is a box in the hallway at the church.  As we fill the box, Nicole delivers the items to her friend, who then moves them along.Thank you for all you do for Jesus, and in Jesus’ name!
