Worship Cancelled
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
After much prayer and emotional wrestling, and out of an abundance of caution
in this time of the Covid-19 outbreak, as all schools in Pennsylvania are
closed to limit the spread of this virus, we are:
CANCELLING WORSHIP
for tomorrow, March 15th,
CANCELLING
the Wednesday MIDWEEK SERVICES AN SOUP,
CANCELLING
the Men’s Breakfast
Saturday, March 21st, and
CLOSING THE BUILDING
for the week of March 14th – 21st for a deep cleaning.
We are also CANCELLING
the BOWLING
event on March 22nd.
We will determine in this coming week whether we are holding worship next
Sunday, and in what format that may be.
This is a difficult decision. In times of uncertainty one of the things
the church can provide is a place for people to gather to connect with and
support one another. At the same time, we are trying to balance the needs
to gather with the call of our church to care for each other and the world by
limiting contact that can easily, and inadvertently, spread infection.
Please follow the directions of the CDC and PA Department of Health regarding
social distancing and thorough hand washing procedures.
As best as possible, do not give into panic, but be responsible in your going
out and your coming in, recognizing we need to live, we live in community, but
there are ways we can mitigate the risk we pose to ourselves, our families, and
our neighbors.
I may send out a resource in the morning with some thoughts and reflections for
the day. Either way, be safe, be blessed, and in the words of Proverbs
3:5-6,
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and
lean not on your own understanding. In everything acknowledge Him, and He
will guide your path.”
